In early days, the only option online business folks had was a private discussion forum for reaching groups.
But over few years, Facebook Groups have taken over. But as the resources and tools built into the groups, such as instant notifications, direct messages, and LIVE training, promoting to Facebook groups is big and very, very sticky.
Furthermore, Facebook is kinda big – so they’re always adding new features into the groups.
Believe it or not, you can take your current Facebook Group and turn in to a paid group. But there is a strategy you need to follow.
Most importantly, you need to have two different Facebook Groups.
Group #1: Free Facebook Group
This is where you’d drive EVERYONE. And it’s a 100% free Facebook group.
For example if you are focused on serving people who are retirees or to-be retirees. You have a group on Facebook- Golden Warriors.
You need send everyone to this group via your podcasts, articles and/or media posts. Everything you do will drive them to your free community. And your free community is where you have some strong interaction.
You need to energize your Golden Warriors members, so you are effectively their mentor. As you get to that level, you also need to promote the other group- The Paid one.
Group #2: The Paid Community
Your PAID group is special. In this example let’s call it the Amazing Golden Warriors!
You can have some fun with your branding. Imaging saying things like, “Hey, I know you’re Golden Warrior – but wouldn’t you like to be a REALLY amazing warrior?”.
So now you have a second group, The Amazing Golden Warriors.
It could be your coaching group teaching them to live life at fullest. You make it different by exclusive training, live content, or special offers.
Now this is where you have to be careful. Because according to Facebook’s Terms of Service (TOS), you can’t charge for only a Facebook group. One simple way is to add some content in a separate membership area
Yes, it is possible you can have that charge a monthly fee. Depending on your clientele, it is possible you could charge $500 per month. It is to be noted here that this is not to be expected overnight. But you need to be sure that you will be promoting paid group content on your FREE Facebook Group.
For example, if you’re doing a free FB Live training about how to run a monthly promotion to bring in new clients in your amazing Golden Warriors group. Then tell everyone in your FREE group about it.
When you do this the right way – you’ll get new members every day.
Simply put, start with your free community on Facebook Group. Build your community. Listen to your community. Have fun with your community. Protect your community. And Serve your community.
